We currently grow all of the plants we sell from our home garden, therefore we are not able to open to the public. You can find us at various plant fairs and farmers markets across the South of England (see Events), or buy some of our plant range online.

We don’t display our full range of plants online, so if you are looking for a specific plant and cannot see it on the website, it is always worth contacting us. It may be that we have some large plants that are difficult to post, but we can come to an arrangement, or it may be that we have just a few left and they are not displayed online. We are happy to help, so it is always worth emailing us to ask.

All of the plants we sell have been propagated and grown by us, from seed, cuttings or via division. We do not buy any plants in from wholesalers or abroad. With us you are buying plants from a small local grower, and in 99% of cases we can tell you about the precise history of the plant, such as who bred it, or the precise garden we obtained it from originally.

We do not offer a collection service, but we can agree to bring your plants to any of the plant fairs we attend. Please our Events page.

95% of the plants we sell are grown outside by us all year round whatever the weather. The benefit of this is that our customers can be confident they are buying a tough, hardy plant that will grow away strongly when they plant it in their garden. We do not believe in growing plants in controlled, indoor conditions, as this means the plants are often soft and ill-adapted to life outside of the protected environment.

During the Winter and early Spring the majority of plants can be posted to you without the need for any adjustments. As the growing season progresses from April onwards, many plants will need to be cut back to some extent to enable successful delivery. This may be because the plant is too tall or too large to realistically fit inside normal packaging, or it may be carried out to reduce water loss and stress for plants with a lot of foliage. This is normal for any mail order plant service, and cutting back a plant will not harm it any way, and will actually go some to enabling better establishment in your garden.

AGM stands for RHS Recommended: Award of Garden Merit. This means the plant has undergone rigorous trials managed by the expert growers of the Royal Horticultural Society. At the end of these trials, only the very best performing plants are awarded an RHS Recommended: Award of Garden Merit. So you can be assured that when you see AGM at the end of a plant name, it is because it is an exceptionally reliable and high performing plant. You can find out about the RHS AGM trials here.

Yes, although some of the plants are grown in low volume small batches, we can and do grow some plants in 3 figure quantities. If you need a large number of something, please email us and we will be happy to discuss.
