This sedge originates in New Zealand. In the summer months it will appear olive green, however during the winter into spring, this olive green gives way to earthy, orange/bronze colouration. A particularly useful addition to the winter garden, when this colourful evergreen really earns its keep.
Brown flower spikes emerge in the summer months, and if happy in a soil that does not dry out, Carex testacea may even self-seed somewhat.
This plant also makes an excellent choice for a container, where it can be placed in full sun for maximum colouration, whilst watering can be easily provided in dry summer weather.
Full sun. Moist but free-draining soil.
Height: 25cm - 40cm
Width: 25cm - 40cm
